Congratulations Patricia!

During the IAPA AGM, the membership appointed a new Chairperson, Patricia Brunner, Munichaupair, Germany. Patricia was first elected as board member during the AGM in Miami in 2010 and has actively supported the association in the last 3 years.

Quality Workshop 2013 – Italy

TIAPA endorsed 2013 Quality Campaign workshop in Rome, Italy, at the Hotel Sheraton Roma. Eleven Italian agencies participated and agreed on moving together towards the creation of the Italian National Au Pair Association.

Arrivederci Roma! The location for the next WETM-IAC was announced during the Networking Dinner in Rome by Sandra Landau, the Childcare International: “London has consistently been one of the top destinations for young people looking to work abroad and a city which receives hundreds of Au pairs from the EU each year.”

Au Pair of the Year – Femke Meyer

Femke Meyer, 19 years old from Germany, was presented the award during the WETM-IAC Welcome Reception. Femke was au pair in New Zealand and her sending and receiving agencies (AIFS Germany and Au Pair LInk) took part at the celebration. Femke’s talented musician and gave a great performance at the event.

The Dan Burnet Scholarship Fund

In remembering the longstanding and incredible work Dan Burnet did for the expansion and improvement of Youth Travel, WYSE Travel Confederation together with ATEC have created The Dan Burnet Scholarship Fund.

Au Pair of the Year 2013

The “IAPA Au Pair of the Year” award is one way of giving au pairs the recognition and credit they deserve and to enhance the public’s awareness of this demanding yet undervalued cultural experience.

The event generates wide international media coverage, benefiting not only the Association and its individual members, but the au pair industry as a whole.

The winner, Femke Meyer, 19 years old from Gemrany, has been presented at the Welcome Reception of the IAPA Annual Conference (WETM-IAC) on 13 March 2013 in Rome, Italy
The sending agency AISF Germany and the receiving agency Au Pair Link (New Zealand) attended the reception.

Femke also demonstrated to be a talented musician and enjoyed the audience with a fantastic performance.

	Playschool Au Pairs takes an innovative approach to ensuring both the families child care needs are met by the right Au Pair, while ensuring each Au pair is placed with a loving family. Playschool Au Pairs completes a two part matching process by firstly using personality testing to ensure a positive personality match between family and Au Pair. Secondly we have experienced and ECE Qualified Teachers conduct a full assessment of all hosting families. We meet with each family to gain understanding of their needs, provide training and documentation to assist with the placement process and undertake a full assessment of the home to ensure that each potential Au Pair candidate will be comfortable and safe in her new home. Our Au Pair candidates are both reference checked and police vetted in their country of origin and must meet our childcare experience requirements.
