IAPA Elects Jean Quinn as new Chair and Reaffirms Board Leadership

Sofia, March 19, 2026 – The International Au Pair Association (IAPA) is pleased to announce the election of Jean Quinn, Senior Vice President of AIFS /Au Pair in America (USA), as its new Chair. The elections were held during IAPA’s Annual General Meeting, which took place as part of the WETM-IAC conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. Jean Quinn succeeds Michael McHugh of InterExchange (USA), who served in the role for the past three years and chose not to stand for re-election.

Introducing  IAPA´s new Chair Jean Quinn: A Leader in Cultural Exchange

Jean Quinn brings over 30 years of experience in the au pair business to her new role, along with a deep commitment to cultural exchange and international understanding. Her own journey of cultural exchange includes a high school exchange in France and teaching in London. Jean received her Master’s degree in Intercultural Management from the School for International Training.

Jean has also completed her board term on the Alliance for International Exchange, contributing her expertise to advance advocacy for international exchange programs.

Jean also understands the au pair experience from the perspective of a host mother, having welcomed au pairs from different countries into her home. These experiences have fostered lasting intercultural bonds and a profound appreciation for the transformative power of exchange programs.

In her statement of intent, Jean Quinn shared her vision and commitment:

“There has never been a more important time to be engaged with board and advocacy work on behalf of the au pair community. The work that IAPA does is extremely relevant, engaging, and personal. Each member organization touches the lives of so many young people around the world. I believe strongly in the power of our programs and what they can do for future au pairs.”
