International Au Pair Day 2025 Theme
International Au Pair Day, celebrated every year on 24 November, was initiated by IAPA in 2019 to honor au pairs worldwide and to raise awareness of the important role cultural exchange plays in building understanding between people and nations. Since then, the day has continued to grow in visibility and recognition, and we are proud that it is now featured on Days of the Year as an official international celebration.
This Year´s Theme: “New Culture, New Habits, New Me”
The theme highlights the lasting impact of the au pair experience. When au pairs live with a host family in another country, they often adopt habits, traditions, and insights that stay with them long after their stay ends.
It might be:
- – a new daily routine,
- – a favorite local dish,
- – a greeting or phrase in another language,
- – a holiday custom they now celebrate,
- – or simply a new way of seeing the world.
What once felt new or even a little strange often becomes part of everyday life — shaping identities and creating lasting connections across cultures.
How to Get Involved
We invite au pairs, host families, and agencies to join the celebration by sharing their stories, photos, or videos that show how cultural exchange created “new habits” and helped shape a “new me.” Organize au pair meet-ups, activities, or contests using the theme.
Post your content on social media with #InternationalAuPairDay and spread the word in your communities. Together, let’s inspire the world with the powerful stories of how cultural exchange changes us all.
