International Au Pair Day is just around the corner on 24 November, and this year’s theme, “New Culture, New Habits, New Me”, perfectly describes the au pair journey.

To celebrate, we sat had a chat with Issy Foster, our 2025 IAPA Au Pair of the Year Award winner, to hear about her journey, experiences, and the personal growth that comes with living in a new culture. Issy has spent about two years with a wonderful host family in Philadelphia.

Issy shared inspiring insights about adapting to life in a host family, embracing new habits, and discovering more about hersel along the way. Her story is a shining example of how cultural exchange can transform lives -not just for au pairs, but for host families too.
