Rooted In History, Open to the World!

Sofia is one of Europe’s oldest cities, with history dating back over 7,000 years. It has been inhabited since at least 7000 BC.

Despite its ancient roots, Sofia is now considered a tech hub of Eastern Europe, with a booming startup scene and a high percentage of young, educated professionals.

The massive gold-domed Orthodox St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral is one of the largest in the Balkans and a symbol of Sofia. It can hold up to 10,000 people and was built to honor Russian soldiers who died in the Russo-Turkish War.
