IAPA Workshops Worldwide
What are IAPA's international workshops?
IAPA's Board and Management travel to a country or region and invite both member and non-member agencies to join. These workshops focus on the specific situation in that country or region – what matters most to local agencies, and how IAPA can help. They also offer a valuable forum for agencies to get to know IAPA better and to exchange experiences with one another.
Why are these workshops important?
Changes in economic conditions, sending and receiving markets, and visa procedures in recent years have made international cooperation increasingly important to maintain high standards in au pair programmes. These workshops give IAPA and local agencies the opportunity to discuss the current situation of the au pair programme in their country, with a focus on maintaining high standards through lobbying and increased public awareness.
What else does IAPA do to support the industry through these visits?
Alongside the workshops, IAPA is committed to supporting the establishment of new national au pair associations in both sending and receiving countries, helping to raise quality standards across the industry.
How can organisations get involved when IAPA visits their country?
When IAPA visits a country, we invite local agencies to join us and share their experience of the au pair industry. Their input helps us better understand the challenges on the ground and supports our work in moving the industry forward.
What is the current status of the workshops?
IAPA's country-specific workshops were paused in 2020 due to the pandemic. Since then, we have offered more general online formats instead. We are now looking forward to bringing back this valued tradition, though likely less frequently than before. We will share updates here as new workshops are planned.
